Merriam's Turkey

Found primarily in the Ponderosa pine and western mountain regions of the United States, the Merriam's turkey was relatively isolated for generations. Their bright feather coloration and large tail fans make the Merriam’s arguably the most beautiful sub-species of the Turkey Grand Slam. Hunters may each harvest two (2) tom turkeys.

Vermejo offers three (3) Merriam’s turkey hunts in April. Hunts 1 and 2 cost $3,250 per hunter, while Hunt 3 is $2,750 per person.
