ABOUT AT VERMEJO RANCH PARK

FAQs

Is there mobile phone service at Vermejo Park?

Yes, if you have AT&T, T-Mobile or Plateau Wireless. Because of our remote location, no other mobile service providers work.

Do you have Internet access?

Yes, there is internet access both at Costilla lodge and at Headquarters. But don’t expect high-speed. The great distance from any major city makes the connection a bit slow.

What is included in the basic nightly rate?

Your room, all meals and sales tax are included. The breakfast buffet is available from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Sack lunches are packed for our guests with outdoor activities while others eat at the lodge. Gourmet dinners are served every night in the main dining room.

Clay and skeet shooting, guided nature tours, horseback riding, and our other activities are also available to our guests – though we suggest reservations.

Drinks from the bar, gratuities, long distance phone calls and Vermejo Company Store purchases are not included in the basic nightly rate.

What transportation should I take to the Ranch?

Guests will need some means of transportation (either your own or rented) to get to Vermejo. If you’ve hired a guide, he will drive you to your Ranch destinations in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. If you’ve chosen not to hire a guide, then you may drive your car or truck around the property. However, we do not recommend compact sedans, and tires should be 6 ply or higher.

I don’t want to hunt or fish. What else can I do at Vermejo Park?

Vermejo Park has a limited number of horses available for riding in the scenic high country. We offer skeet and sporting clay shooting. There are guided hikes available and designated hiking trails around headquarters and in the high country. Guests may also enjoy guided trips to the old mining settlements or adobe ruins or taking photos of the numerous birds and other wildlife.

Do you offer any exclusive guest accommodations?

Yes. The Costilla Lodge is about an hour from headquarters. Its remote location and five-person dedicated staff mean you receive all the pampering and privacy you deserve.
